Private-pilot notice Privacy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 August 2026
Current boundary: CallRelay has a defined retention schedule for research enquiries and the bounded internal Voice test. No customer or missed-caller pilot data may be processed until a data-processing agreement and a separate caller-data retention schedule are agreed.
Who is responsible
CallRelay is an independent UK research project operated by Ismail Nur. For privacy questions, email research@callrelay.co.uk.
Postal address: 115 Dorney Adelaide Road, London, NW3 3PL, United Kingdom.
This is a pilot-stage notice and has not been presented as a substitute for legal advice or a production data-processing agreement.
Information you choose to submit
The pilot form asks for your name, business name and email address. You may also choose to provide a phone number and notes about your current missed-call process. Do not include customer details, payment information, identity documents or emergency information.
The opportunity calculator runs in your browser. Its values are not submitted to CallRelay by the calculator.
Website page-view analytics
CallRelay uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to public pages and understand broad website use. Before a page view is sent, CallRelay's browser code permits only callrelay.co.uk and www.callrelay.co.uk, then removes the URL query string and fragment.
The analytics integration sends page views only. It does not add form fields, calculator values, phone numbers, email addresses or custom event properties. It does not write analytics cookies, local storage or session storage, and it does not run on localhost or an unapproved host.
Vercel receives the resulting page-view request and may process technical request information under its own controls. This is separate from submitting the private-pilot enquiry form. You can review Vercel's privacy policy.
How the form is delivered
When you submit the form, a server function hosted by Vercel validates the request and sends the enquiry through Resend to the CallRelay research inbox. CallRelay does not currently write the submission to its own customer database.
The Resend request includes a content-bound duplicate-prevention identifier derived from the normalised email request. This is used only to prevent the same email request being sent more than once within the provider's idempotency window; it is not written to browser storage or exposed in the public page.
The function uses the request IP address temporarily for abuse-rate limiting. Vercel and Resend may also process technical request or email-delivery information in their infrastructure under their own terms. You can review Vercel's privacy policy, Resend's privacy policy and Resend's data processing addendum.
Why the information is used
The enquiry is used to reply to you, understand how UK trade businesses currently handle missed calls, and assess whether a separately agreed pilot would be useful. CallRelay does not sell the submitted information or use it for unrelated advertising.
Outbound business research
CallRelay may use a generic business contact address published on a UK trade business's own website to invite that business to one optional research interview. For this limited research, CallRelay may record the business name, its published generic corporate address, invitation, delivery and reply status, and business-level interview answers. It does not require an individual contact name.
The purpose is to understand how trade businesses handle unanswered inbound enquiries before CallRelay decides whether to develop or offer a service. CallRelay does not buy contact lists, use this research invitation to add a business to marketing, or use tracking pixels in the invitation.
Where CallRelay has documented that the purpose, necessity and balancing assessment passes for a verified incorporated business and generic corporate address, it relies on legitimate interests for this one-off research invitation. Otherwise, it does not use the address. CallRelay limits the possible impact by sending once, collecting no caller or customer data, and providing a simple right to object.
If you do not want the business contacted about this research, reply no or email research@callrelay.co.uk. CallRelay will stop and keep only the minimum suppression record needed to prevent another approach.
How outbound research email is delivered
CallRelay sends and receives research email using Microsoft 365 supplied through GoDaddy. Microsoft and GoDaddy may process sender and recipient addresses, message content, delivery metadata, and security or diagnostic information to provide and protect the mailbox. Their provider-controlled logs and retention are subject to the controls available for the mailbox service. You can review the Microsoft Privacy Statement and GoDaddy Global Privacy Notice.
Retention and deletion
Research enquiries are retained for 90 days after the last contact, then deleted unless an active arrangement or legal obligation justifies a documented longer period.
Outbound research invitation, reply, delivery and interview working records are reviewed 90 days after the last contact and deleted from CallRelay-controlled Microsoft 365 mailbox folders, delivery or error records, and exported notes unless a documented active research arrangement or legal obligation requires longer. Provider-controlled retention that CallRelay cannot change may continue under the mailbox service's controls.
A minimal suppression record may be kept while needed to honour an objection and prevent re-contact. It contains a reconciled business identity, a protected destination fingerprint, the suppression date, a short reason code, and the last verification date; it is reviewed annually for accuracy and necessity.
You can ask CallRelay to find, correct or delete a research enquiry by emailing research@callrelay.co.uk. CallRelay may delete information earlier when it is no longer needed. CallRelay does not currently write enquiries to its own customer database; processor delivery logs may be subject to the provider's own controls.
For the bounded internal Voice test, CallRelay does not record calls, store caller data in the application, or send email or SMS. Twilio and Vercel technical test logs will be reviewed and, where provider controls allow, deleted within seven days. If a provider's controls prevent deletion within seven days, the applicable provider retention controls must be documented before the test.
Future caller data is outside this notice
The missed-call acknowledgement and enquiry-details workflow described on the site is proposed and not live. This research form does not authorise CallRelay to process a pilot business's callers or customers.
No customer pilot data may be processed until CallRelay and the pilot operator agree a data-processing agreement, define exactly what caller data is collected, approve a separate caller-data retention and deletion schedule, and complete the required communications-compliance checks.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact CallRelay first at research@callrelay.co.uk so the request can be identified.
Changes to this notice
This notice may change as the research develops. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
